The culmination of Leo’s work on dozens of Selmer restorations and years of guitar building may well be his Stochelo Rosenberg signature model. This is the model which the Rosenbergs performed on in Samois for their 2003 concert and subsequent DVD ( a copy is included with the purchase of this guitar). The run of these instruments is a limited edition; this one was completed in 2019. Some unique appointments not found in other models include a  custom Tailpiece with Stochelos initials embedded ( SR ), the headstock Stochelo Rosenberg engraving ( a la the famous early 500 model Selmers with Django’s name on them), and a bigtone pickup installed as standard. This model has a very high grade Spruce top, stunning Bird’s eye Maple back and sides and a 3 piece Maple neck in the Favino style.  Leo’s vintage finish gives the instrument a lovely rich and warm aged appearance.  Acoustically, there is little more to ask for from a newer instrument. The bass is solid and warm, the mids full and rounded, and the highs have a very Selmer character, but with an added sweetness. The tone is reminiscent of the later 4 brace Selmers; a slightly more open and balanced sound than the earlier models. This guitar is one of the last new instruments being produced under the limited edition Stochelo Rosenberg series; so Stochelo fans, here’s your chance to own one!
